The year 2011 started with Fireworks at 12am. Everywhere in big towns all over someone had to have something to lit and set off.
Going straight to what has been being done, Danielle, Andrea and I spent almost a month in Lahuaytambo.
Sweet, sweet place. A small village on the top of a mountain. Almost all the people's lives revolved around the work on the fields. So, that is what we did. We went looking for them on the fields, helped them, shared life and most important, shared Bible stories with them.
Working in the fields, getting callouses on our palm hands and feeling the pain on our backs-not-used-to-fieldwork muscles were the earthly downsides. The Word was planted, in despite of our weakness and inadequacy, I believe God did His will and the prayer is that the Lord will help them remember so that the knowledge planted bears fruit.
In the month of March. I had a different Team Member. Arturo Tovar. A very solid Christian who helped me tons, I mean tons in all aspects of life. Together with him we served in Cora Cora. A place much bigger than Lahuaytambo. This town is very commercial driven, there are tons of people who dedicate their lives to businesses.
Quechua is spoken quite a lot here. Most of people understand it well, or understand it and speak it. I tried to learn some but only a month in one place is not enough anywhere in this globe.
The Lord put on our way single mothers, making us understand that God does as He wants, using the most inadequate to bring glory to His own name.
There is one man in this village who I believe is a type of flag shinning in the current time, his name is Porfirio. A super strong Christian man whom we met and shared with. He does want to continue with the work in Cora Cora. Thank God for him.
Here in Lima, I am right in the middle of the changing weather, the transition from summer to winter. We leave to the fields once again. My team is made of two girls plus myself once again. Danielle Miller and Paty Arroyo. We will be flying out to Juliaca this afternoon, being the current day Monday 11, we will most likely stay there over the night and try to ride a vehicle with wheels early the next day.
Brothers and sisters, as our brother Paul wrote: I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. 1 Timothy 1:12-15
A prayer for all the saints being : For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established ;that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Romans 1:11-12
And finally : Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Rom 5:1-5
Let us continue to draw near to His throne only through our High Priest, Jesus Christ.

Sol, I'm very glad to hear of the work God is doing wherever you go. Keep up the hard work, and don't let your bald head get cold this winter!
